Diana Shabtai, Psy.D., ATR-BC “Miss.Dee” created Art Therapy OC in 2012, as a special FUN, cheerful, encouraging, & inspirational place for you to explore the enjoyable world of Art, it's endless creative possibilities, & unlimited therapeutic benefits for healthy better-living!
~Diana is passionate about the therapeutic and endless benefits of art.
-She is a published writer & contributing writer to multiple OC publications/magazines. Read several of her frequent articles posted on her media pages.
-Her extensive & impressive Education includes:
*Fine Arts major at Academy of Art, San Francisco, CA.
*BA in Business Communications, with minors in Organizational Communications & Gerontology, *Chapman University, Orange , CA.
*MA Degree in Clinical Art Therapy, Long Island University, NY.
*ATR-BC, Board Certified Art Therapist
*MA Degree in MFT (Marriage & Family Therapy), California School of Professional Psychology, Irvine, CA.
*Doctorate Degree (Psy.D.) in MFT, California School of Professional Psychology, Irvine, CA.
-Semi-fluent in several languages.
-Along with her passion for Arts, Diana has positive energy, encouragement, & a true desire for helping individuals, of all different populations, explore & create beneficial art of their very own.
-An advocate for mental health & bringing awareness to the therapeutic benefits of the Arts!
-An eclectic artist (all mediums of art), with frequent OC community gallery showings.
-Creating art daily since her toddler years.
-Extensive experience & knowledge in Art Therapy, Psychology, & Business for nearly 25 years in working with all ages, families, groups, & within various populations & settings, such as retirement homes, Alzheimer’s & Dementia centers, Young Rembrandts Art Instructor at most schools in OC, Montessori Pre-school co-teacher, Psychiatric Children Centers, Frequent volunteer at non-profits & various organizations, Adult & youth Rehabilitation clinics, camps, Frequent volunteer & art instructor for various populations, such as Clinics, Hospitals (patients & families), local schools & universities, & home school organizations, Girl/boy Scouts, Wellness centers, corporate wellness, & much More.
-Held countless internships throughout her extensive studies over the years with various populations.
-Amazing & experienced at running large groups, events, pARTy, workshops, & much more for all ages!
-Newport Beach, OC native & loves her hometown & community dearly.
